Question analysis on the massmedia

Should the press be completely free?
Topic: The mass media
Issue: Whether the press should be COMPLETELY free.
Context: Present, Anywhere
Keywords: Press -------> can be newspaper, magazines, television, radio, internet, flyers.
COMPLETELY FREE ----> Freedom of speech , no censorship,
not being under government jurisdication and no need pay money.
Stand: No, depending on certain criterias. ( under accurate control of government )

Topic sentence 1: The press should not be completely free because it will allow people with harmful intentions to propogate their ideas.

Topic sentence 2: Furthermore, although people should have the right to exercise the freedom of speech, but making it completely free will allow materials such as religious/racists attacks on certain group of people.

Topic sentence 3: If the press is made completely free, it might potray scences or pictures of violence, this will undoubtly promote violence in the world.

Topic sentence 4: Moreover, the press should not be made completely free as this will mean that the people can create anti-government feelings and thus this may cause instability and riots may break out, but it should be free to publicise accurately what the government is doing.

Topic sentence 5: Finally, it should not be made completely free, but to allow comments to continue. And the government should act as the moderator to block any comments that are hurtful, stupid or mean.

Paragraph
Chosen topic sentence: The press should not be completely free because it will allow people with harmful intentions to propogate their ideas. For example, a person who dislikes a certain race or a group of people may desire to post comments in their blog that may insult and downgrade the character of the person. Moreover, websites are free to post whatever they want to and thus, some websites tend to exaggerate about a person and is often biased towards him/her. If the government does not control the press, they might tend to exaggerate about facts so that they can attract readers, but they do not have any idea what they might have caused. Thus i feel that the press should not be made completely free as this may cause instability and riots. I feel that with accurate government control and some freedom in press, is the best compromise.
