And President George Bush claimed that his invasion of Iraq was to find"weapons that can cause mass destruction" . However UN had been scouring Iraq for months and had found no evidence of the existence of any. Thus US invasion of Iraq has a clear motive - that is gain control of Iraq's huge oil reserves. And by doing so, it enable them to establish military bases in Iraq from which to dominate the Middle East and eventually (by controlling oil supply), to establish control over all countries dependent on oil, and to remove the threat to Israel posed by Iraq. Most importantly, many people had lost their lives in this war. So by saying that Saddam Hussein was behind the September 11th attacks, he hopes to gain the support of the Americans so that they too can support the war. However, after investigation they failed to find any evidence of linkage between Saddam Hussein and the attacks of September 11th. Thus by invading Iraq, America had a very clear motive. I feel that America should not have declared a war with Iraq because having a war there bound to be bloodshed and resources like money and weapon are needed to put in. Thus, both sides do not gain any advantages after the war regardless of who won. Ulitmately, there's bound to be people sobbing for others, worse still , riots to protest against Iraq war.
